About us
The Koller Wine Estate has been under the ownership of our family for more than 150 years. We have been running a vine-area of 6 hectares on south slope with 60% incline.
The quality of our wines results in consequent pruning and maturing which is not self evident for Schilcher wine. The typical Schilcher grows up in this quality only in the Gneis and Slate soils dominate region of West Styria.
Blauer Wildbacher grapes. The name is derived from The Castle of Wildbach, because there the “Blaue Wildbacher” has always been grown completely purely. Near this castle there you can find our Wine Estate. We harvest up to 6000 kg grape, clusters on one hectar there are about 240 hl wine on average.
Our wines are cultivated in oak casks and after a good storage time they are filled in bottles or stell-containers, so that you are always ready to drink a fresh Schilcher. The Schilcher is fruity, fresh with a fine acidity and a very typical bouquet. The storage-ability lies between one and two years. The ideal serving temperature should be 9°C.
We have already received rewards which are the witnesses of really excellent quality. We even were winners of Austrian competitions and in 1993 we were the Champion of Vino Forum.
Besides Schilcher, we have also Weißburgunder, Steirischen Cuvee, Zweigelt and a red wine from the grape Blauer Wildbacher called “Koller Granat” and “Koller Brillant”, which is quickly pressed white. In addition to wine we offer a wide array of brandies from Schilcher wine, Schilcher marc and Schilcher lees.
We would like to welcome you at our estate where you can taste our products.
